Full time vs part time
73 percent of respondents indicated that their nanny worked full time (35 hours or week or more). The average hourly rate for full time nannies was $16.13 while the average hourly rate for part time was $19. The average weekly salary for part time nannies was $386 and for full time nannies it was $695.

The hourly rate for part time nannies - which means ones that dont work full weeks - indeed is higher than full time nannies. This is understandable. A nanny will work for less if the nanny is assured a full week of salary.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the weekly averages in Alexandria. The average weekly salary of a nanny that does not work a full week is $386. Thats how much they are paid before taxes on average. The average weekly salary of a full time nanny in Alexandria is $695 before taxes. Obviously the takehome pay would be less than the average.
